چکیده

Abstract Compartmental epidemiological models are, by far, the most popular in study of dynamics related with infectious diseases. It is, therefore, not surprising that they are frequently used to current COVID-19 pandemic. Taking advantage real-time availability data, we perform a compartmental model fitting analysis portuguese case, using an online open-access platform integrated capability solving systems differential equations. This enabled data-driven validation and was basis for robust projections different future scenarios, namely, increasing detected infected population, reopening schools at moments, allowing Easter celebrations take place population vaccination. The method presented this work can easily be non-trivial task simultaneously equation solutions data sets, regardless or country might considered analysis.

Mathematical Model of Novel COVID-19 and Its Transmission Dynamics

In this paper, we formulated a dynamical model of COVID-19 to describe the transmission dynamics of the disease. The well possedness of the formulated model equations was proved. Both local and global stability of the disease free equilibrium and endemic equilibrium point of the model equation was established using basic reproduction number. The results show that, if the basic reproduction numb...

Does a cell protein explain Covid-19 severity

Does a protein on the surface of some of our cells explain why certain people are more at risk from covid-19? The coronavirus attaches to a receptor protein on the surface(ACE) of our cells to gain entry to them. The protein is carried by cells in the nose, lungs and gut. It is possible that variation in how much of this protein people have may help explain why some are more likely to die from ...

The host’s angiotensin-converting enzyme polymorphism may explain epidemiological findings in COVID-19 infections

The number of victims of the COVID-19 pandemic shows important geographical differences. In this study, a number of human genetic polymorphisms were compared to the number of Covid-19 patients and Covid-19 mortality. Data from 33 countries were analyzed. Among the polymorphisms tested, the human angiotensine converting enzyme (ACE) polymorphism turned out to be a determinant factor in both prev...

Fitting ordinary differential equations to short time course data.

Ordinary differential equations (ODEs) are widely used to model many systems in physics, chemistry, engineering and biology. Often one wants to compare such equations with observed time course data, and use this to estimate parameters. Surprisingly, practical algorithms for doing this are relatively poorly developed, particularly in comparison with the sophistication of numerical methods for so...
